I'm not sure if Conrad Black has hidden reserves somewhere, however, it goes to show anybody's finances can go from good to bad in a short period of time..

Is it fair to call Conrad Black a dead beat... only on a different scale?

Conrad Black ain't Canadian. He can't enter Canada anymore! Can't say though...Stephen Harper may pardon him and give him back his citizenship just to spite Chretien! But until then my score rules!

Well, it should be higher than Conrad Black's credit score by the time next Christmas rolls around.

Nope , not mine...Nobody will give me even a 19" CRT TV on credit.

I proudly declare that my credit score is 424 which ranks higher than 0.0% of the Canadian population according to the Oracle of Transunion.

I'am the best! I'am the best! Nobody in Canada beats me!

Hope that 65 inch plasma TV that "torontbk" was talking about wasn't his.

You can stretch that 3 or 4 months out a good bit too for reasons that I mentioned.

My guess was that your creditors likely won't sue you.

Let me know if I was wrong.

If they decide to, they will do it soon, well before the end of the year. They have another 19 months or so before they're SOL barred.

Just to point out... check your local legislation. In Alberta, before a car is repo'd, the lender must send you a registered letter giving you 10 days notice that if the outstanding amount is not paid the car will be repossessed.

Don't worry about TV's and couches. Do worry about cars. No, the repo man doesn't need to take you to court to take your car.

TV's and such are almost always financed as unsecured loans and so they would have to take you to court, get a judgement and apply to the sheriff's office for a writ of sezure of listed personal property. Almost never, ever done anymore. Instead, they'll try to seize your bank account or wages.

What are the laws governing repossession of goods in Ontario? Does the secured creditor need a judgement or can he just walk into your house and walk out with your 65 inch Plasma TV that you bought on credit? And if you have hidden the TV? Can he turn your house upside down searching for it? Can you be arrested for hiding the TV?
