a good place to talk about links

Well, the guy did include 7 pages of photographs of his son's stay at SickKid's Hospital in Toronto last Friday as well as his payment arrangements. Other than posting his statements, I don't know what else you're looking for.

As far as iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency goes, I can give you an answer about their credibility in 3 words: "John E.Dowling"

Still, when you back to his original post on Saturday night, (July 7), the link that contained the 7 pages of photos of his son now redirects you to an advertising portfolio of wedding pictures that he's taken (as he's a professional photographer); i.e.,

http://www.sebdphoto.com/alex

Not too sure why he did that.

I didn't say anything, but I did wonder a bit about his iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency monomania and crusade to go public about their boorish behaviour. I mean, I would think he has much bigger worries, given his son's tentative and delicate condition. Besides, everyone already knows perfectly well what a bunch of jackals collectors are. There's no shortage of terrible stories about those mindless collection agencies. A really surprising story would be if they acted any differently. After all, everyone expects a collection agency to act like.....well, a collection agency.

As I said to him, there was a lady friend in my dance class who had a daughter that underwent an equally traumatic period in the hospital next to SickKid's. She was well off, but you can be sure that even if she hadn't been, she wouldn't have paid very much attention at the time if a few zombies at iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency were bugging her about an overdue bill. I mean it's really not that big of a deal.

IMO... the topic is an emotional one...
However, to create and maintain mad_as_hell's credibility in the public eye, he's going to have to be a little more detailed with people.

That's the downside with going public with an emotional topic. It's nice to get it out in the open, however, people are going to want some verification to believe the stories credibility.

IMO...

No need to bother explaining. Anyhow, the Amex brass will still be flying around in their Grumman Gulfstreams whether you pay them or not.

Hi CalDude,

Thanks for your post.

Well I guess the last 4 or 5 paragraphs of my post answear some of your questions. I was using my Amex to cover some of my costs of survival. Basically from September until about Feburary I was able to keep up with the payments.

After Feburary things slowed down financially. Any funds I had from charitable organizations, donations and personal income were depleted.

Mind you when you are in a situation like mine it is extreamly difficult to keep track of what is coming in and going out. The only time you realize you are in trouble is when you hit rock bottom. Until then nothing else matters.

I guess everyone is different, but when you are told your child has a 10% or less chance of survival my stated of mind was not very clear.

Once I realized what had happened I did continue to pay what I could on my AMEX.

AMEX is a very bad card to use in a situation like mine....If anyone in your family ever gets sick to the point you are displaced thousands of miles away from home & work for treatment, take this card and cut it up into a million peices before you go!

As I am sure you know with an AMEX the balance needs to be paid at the end of each month. I was not quite able to meet these obligations towards the end. I did pay every one of my other bills on time and up to the min. payment. It just was not possible with the AMEX.

AMEX called me a few times, I explained my situation. I think they are scripted or something because sometimes they did understand and it felt like I was talking to a human on the other end of the phone. I just don't think they could really do anything about it.

I am not saying that this was not my fault. It was my fault. I am not placing any blame on anyone else but me.

The main thing I wanted was to be treated like a human being, not a peice of (edited for language).

The collections people at iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency on the other hand really treat you like crap. They intimidate & humiliate you. They harase you and verbally abuse you.

It is not right. In many situations could be considered harasment. If you treated someone the way they treated me, you could be charged in the court of law! I guess law does not apply to iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency .

As per your question I am almost on payment three of four. This all started about 2 weeks ago. Like I stated I offered to make 4 payements and this was not acceptable. All or nothing baby. My plan was not good enough...I owed $2000 and wanted to make 4 payments of $500 per week. Souns like an okay deal to me.

I am not sure what else I can tell you besides what I posted here and in my inital post.

Being in the news about stuff like this is not fun. All the sudden your friends, family and in my case my customers know you are in financial trouble.

It is humiliating talking about stuff like this to an audiance of millions. It is more humiliating being treated the way iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency treated me. Someone had to do this.

Please let me know if you need further details. I have nothing to hide.

Kindest Regards....and pardon my awful spelling, I'm tired....good night.

Enough of these verbal fisticuffs.

I wouldn't take that lying down. Your name has been besmirched. Duels are outlawed, so how about challenging P.B. to a match in the ring to defend your honour? I'm sure you won't have any trouble.

(Just trying to help.)

wow, what a nasty thing to say, for what it's worth, im almost 40, I've been in IT for 20 years and have had my share of agencies calling....I'm not sure why you choose to respond the way you did, perhaps it's you that is 20 or more like 12,...I was told my a wise man that he who resorts to such verbal assault merely has nothing intelligent to say..anyway...my point was made because I read this very long account of a tragic situation and one paragraph with little or no detail about what really happened, and yet people are running it up a flag pole but it says nothing. Perhaps i'm just looking for more information, you should never assume and your tasteless, gross, childish response is whats wrong with forums like this.

CalDude,

Geez, I wonder what you do for a living?
You sound to me like a 20 something year old collection agent with all kind of angst.
Think you got the world all figured out hey kiddo?
Not only should you be ashamed of your post. You should be downright ashamed of who you are and what you do.
Go find yourself a rope, a chair and a support beam. Do us all a favour.

Hi there,

As gripping as your story is, and I wish all the best, you failed to provide any real details as to what happened. What did they say? Did you mail your payments in? Did you call Amex and tell them you were spending the funds even though you wouldn't be able to meet your obligations? What exactly happened? Everyone seems to be screaming fire but I've hardly smelled smoke....

Just curious....

Yep, this is the forum that calls a spade a spade and a collection agency a ........ collection agent.

Hey mad_as_hell,

This is very impressive...
You're doing what most of us want to do!! Call the media and get some attention from them.

At the moment I'm buried rather deep business wise , other wise I would like to highly publicize your situation using my "internet marketing" skills.

Keep up the good work.
