At the end of the day, you will get much better terms from the court then from them. Lower mtly payment and hopefully less interest.

Car went back (voluntarily, after marriage breakup) Aug '11. Started making payments in around Apr '12. The account was moved to Action - I don't know why - in Aug '12. I'm not looking to get out of paying. I just want to pay it off as I can in peace.

It was a car loan. I started making payments about six months after the car was repossessed, when they had disposed of it and worked out what was left owing. I have no issue with what's owing, it's their approach I don't like.

Exactly how old was this debt before you started making payments to them?
What kind of debt was it?

These people are the worst C/A I have ever dealt with, and I've been doing everything they wanted me to. Even so they are ruder, more aggressive and way more harrassing than agencies I've dealt with in the past when I haven't been able to make payments they were asking for. Action called me 5 times in a 24 hour period recently and that's clearly illegal. It took me nearly 24 hours of solid telephoning, faxing and emailing to get them to stop. And this was right after they'd received my monthly payment on time!! My particular agent, Jelena Pavcic, Ont license number 4695259, was frankly a real.... c-word. She's just nasty. She refused to provide her license number on request, which is again illegal.

Don't be bullied by these low-lifes. Get to know the law and your rights and stand up for yourself.

Try sending your request by fax. I've always been successful with that method when sending Cease and Desist letters. It’ll also provide you with a paper trail (as long as you retain the confirmation sheet).
Infuriating one C/A at a time..

Thanks for the information and the feedback. I sent an email on the 19th stating that I would pay on January 3rd as long as he sent me the details of the debt. I also stated that I wanted him to deal with me by email or regular mail only.
They called anyway this afternoon, I had my phone off but noticed the call on call display.

So I sent another email to him asking that he not call and I reiterated my plan to pay the debt - once I have an explanation of it.
I guess I will send him an email whenever he calls so I can have a paper trail.

Hmm.. Dynamic Drive 'eh. A lot of truck driving schools in the area like Adanac (Canada spelled backwards) and Jay's.

90 or 148 bucks....whatever, I wouldn't sweat it. No one is going to sue. Just get around to it when you can.

If you're awaiting a decision or certificate for a mental disorder, depending on what it is, the loan contract may be void or voidable because of your condition. But don't tell them that; no telling who they report to.
