If you have sent this information to them, the first thing you need to do is sign up for a credit monitoring service. I use Identity guard for Equifax and use Transunions own monitoring service. If you don't have a credit card, the cheapest prepaid on the market is Much Music's prepaid mastercard. (I have them for my kids )re: What is a prepaid credit card - canada

At the first hint of an unauthorized inquiry place a fraud alert on your file. If you don't want a monitoring service, go straight to the fraud alert status and check your reports at least every year.

And, of course, contact your local law enforcement about this scam site. Even the act of asking your for money up front is illegal, so you do have grounds for a complaint.

i sent my information paystub and drivers licence to rob reynolds of canwest credit no money though got lucky and googled this site....what do they do with that information and what can i do to protect myself????

If these companies can keep scamming people than obviously the RCMP phonebusters to whom you are supposed to report these frauds to aren't doing their jobs. I gave them enough information that even i could back them into a corner. WHAT IS GOING ON? Is this phonebusters just another way to justify government people's jobs? They don't seem to answer to your complaints or follow up.... What do you think Monty Loree? You don't hear about these internet scams coming to an end or ever being there..The public is still not aware that they even excist...

The one that scammed me was first canadian financial. They say they were located in toronto but now trying to find them is impossible as the website has been shut down and the phone number disconnected so if anyone ever talks to a Tom benson just remember that it is a scam.

No, the money was to be sent via money gram and the number was a Toronto number. All the phone and fax numbers were that were given to us from Kyle Danby were Toronto numbers, but yet they claim they are in Vancouver BC. SCAM!!!!re: What is a prepaid credit card - canada
