Check this out...

I just got off the phone conversation with Louis Robertson from http://www.phonebusters.com.. He deals with the media there, and was able to spend 45 minutes with me on the phone talking about these advance fee loan scams.

NOTE: This call is 25 minutes long, so give yourself a little time to listen to it.. it's well worth the time as Louis tells me alot about advance fee loan scams and other types of scam in Canada!!

LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY when Louis is talking about identity theft.. he makes a big point about the fact that these advance fee scammers will steal your identity and cause you some major problems as they take your identity and sign up for all types of services,... compliments of you!!

You can certainly try cancelling the money order. I suspect it will be too late... but there is nothing to lose by trying. Maybe even try reporting that the person who was to receive it didn't receive it. Perhaps you'll get more info that way...?

Well i wish I found this site before I sent my money. I have info on Trans Canada Loans to share because of the address on bbb is totally diffrent then the address I have for them. They gave me a diffrent address in montreal not toronto. I am such a moron I should have read between the lines. Well the person I talked to was Kelly at 416 208 3948. She told me to send Money Order to315 PLACE D'YOUVILLE MONTREAL, QC H2Y 0A4 . Does anyone know how I can cancel or try and get my money order back? Is this the same company? or am I going to get loan promised to me ? I can't tell my wife please help.

Monty - good points it is up to people to do their due diligence but I suspect that many of the people getting these loans wouldn't always be so prudent to use the net (or savvy enough) -

Probably best to get this out on TV, Radio and News. But - I've always wanted to have some sort of basic "scams to avoid 101s" in high schools - they teach elementary school kids about marketing gimmics - why not teach them about scams in the same manner? It's easy to fall prey.

I've just been had too, I was told i would get my loan today, what I did receive was the email from Wayne Baker about having trouble with the lender, the lender having financial difficulties, I emailed back asking for my deposit back but i know i will never get it, something has to be done with these people.

The whole scenario is exactly the same except for the name of the loan officer mine was Tom Benson. I to sent him a security deposit all the savings I had and am still waiting for my loan which will never come. That loan was needed to help with my sons surgery and hospital stay as I am a single mother of three on one income, I sure do feel like an idiot. I constantly left messages and never got a response back and now phones are disconnected and website has been removed. I really hope that one day they pay for what they have done. I think all of us who have been scammed should contact the Toronto authorities have have it looked into so that charges can be laid and they can be made to pay back our money.
