Equifax's POLICY is that all "Tradelines" are purged 6 years from the "date of last activity". In your case, the "date of last activity" is April 2008; therefore, this account will purge from your credit report April 2014. If any activity occurs prior to April 2014, this activity now becomes the NEW "date of last activity". Equifax does NOT place any "date of last activity" on a "Tradeline". A "date of last activity" can include a number of "activity" situations, such as, granting a credit line increase, a payment on an account, assigning the account to a collection agency or selling the debt to a debt buyer and even with the stroke of a pen, writing the debt off of their records. Many people make the same mistake that you did. They ASSUME that the "date of last activity" means the same as "date of last payment". Nothing is further from the truth. Then, because they are totally misinformed, they are quick to blame a credit agency for a reporting date error, when the consumer, through ignorance of the process, is the real problem.
Yes, it's true, that based on the information that you have supplied, this Rogers debt is beyond the SOL. However, that doesn't mean that the debt is extinguished or disappears. They can pursue you, albeit, not through the court system but they have tools available to "bring you to your knees" like doing hard pulls each week for several weeks. This will do wonders for your credit score, especially when you are trying to obtain a credit card or perhaps obtain a car loan.
Who do you plan to dispute this debt with? Deanna Natale? A colossal waste of time. They will tell you that as far as they are concerned, you owe the debt. Equifax? You, and many thousands who have gone before you, will receive a "boilerplate" letter saying that they have contacted the collection agency and that the debt has been verified. The only way to have this debt removed is to contact Rogers, and try to convince them that this debt does not exist. If they buy your story, then they should contact Deanna Natale and cancel the collection. Deanna Natale, in turn, should contact Equifax to have this debt removed as a collection account. In the meantime, the "Tradeline" will continue to show with a R9 rating ( which is the worst rating that you can receive ) and will purge from the credit report 6 years from the "date of last activity".
What many people are now just beginning to realize is that a good credit report and a good or excellent credit score is more important than a clean driver's license.
