whoa re they collecting the debt for?? the reason I ask is because I know for a fact that Bell does NOT report to credit bureau.......Bell Canada, Bell Expressvu, Bell Mobiity or Sympatico......ask the agency who the debt is with.......btw did you get written notification from the agency about this?? If not tell them you require this before you will engage in any form or discussion with them........

The last time you made a payment. If the three years is not up; I would not write or verbally agree to the debt, for the simple fact it could re-start the sol.

3 years would be wonderful for me. Where did you find this information? I would just like to be able to reference it when the collection agency calls me again.

Also, is the SOL from your last payment of the debt in question, or your last contact with any collection agency?

I have never paid any money towards this debt. The first bill I received was from Bell in January 10 2006. Then when I complained about the amount they said they were billing me for another phone company (because I gave them my calling card number, mistakenly believing I was getting my calling card rates). Bell agreed the charges were outrageous. They dropped them off my Bell bill.

On May 1st 2006, I got a bill from Canopco, who is a billing agent for a US provider. The last contact I had from them was an email they sent on June 20th 2006. I have admitted to using the calling card, but argued that the rates were never posted and it was misleading. Is this an omission of guilt? Does it affect my SOL?

Now I am suddenly getting calls from another collection agency. Do I need to avoid them until June 20th? May 1st? Can I talk to him and stall until those dates?

Thank you so much for your help.
