Just let it ride. For 5 more months this tradeline will be dropped from your credit report and it looks like it never happened. But if you decide to pay it now, your date of last activity will be renewed and it'll stick on your report for another 6 years. Just ignore it and be responsible in future! Goodluck.

Ok, in response to my old mailing -

I subscribe to a credit reporting service with equifax and I got an update today that iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency has just reported this account to collections with them. But the dates don't jive with dates reported with Transunion?

Equifax says:

Date Reported: 06-2007

Date of Last Activity: 11-2002

Transunion Says
Date Reported: 06-2007
Date Reviewed: Sept 01, 2007

Ok, if I understand correctly for items in collections, they are only listed on your credit file from Date of Last Activity (should be 11-2002).

What does this mean with the Transunion file? I just mailed in a dispute to this item on my credit file but now the information I have may be wrong?

Do I contact them ( iQor, Inc formerly iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency ) or just contact Transunion? Would it be prudent of me to just leave it, or perhaps make iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency a really lowball offer to make it go away early as I am in a financial position to do so as it (is it) expiring and disappearing in November?

ideas please?

Here is an excellent time table of how your credit bureau should hold activities:

http://www.fcac-acfc.gc.ca/eng/publications/creditreportscore/ucreditscore_e.asp

As far as the "DLA" for this Fido account, DLA means the last date you've acknowledged the debt -- meaning, the last date you made a payment, or last date you sent the creditor/collection agency written acknowledgment of said debt. It should NOT change when the account shifts between agencies.

Perhaps the second party on this account has been making monthly payments, and thus, updating the DLA? If not, you could call Equifax and Transunion and have them generate inquiries about the DLA.

iQor Collection agency - CBCL and Transunion issues

Postby piacevole » Mon Jun 09, 2008 02:33:33 PM

Hi all, I've been reading for some time but this is my first post / question. (I posed this in two forums)

Ok, here's the deal, 6 years ago I made the brilliant mistake of cosigning a friend of mine's cell phone account on fido. To make matters more interesting I had declared bankruptcy some time before then. Ok. I pulled my credit file last year and this "mistake" shows as MJR Microcell Account closed, and then a CBV Coll Svcs file was opened / reported for 2004. Here's where it gets interesting. This year I pull my file and it has now moved to iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency but the date reported is June 2007?

My question is, are they allowed to re-report accounts from in this case 4 years ago to extend the 6 year collection period? How does this work? Can they keep swapping debt collection agencies to keep extending the dates?
