Hi there

RBC wants to know were your assets are - in particular your bank accounts so that they can garnishee. I negotiated a settlement with them - I was to await paperwork and return. Paperwork never arrived because RBC sent to wrong address - they then emptied out my bank accounts - a business one and my kids.

They said settlement offer was null and void since I didn't sign and return -it - they said "it wasn't their problem that they sent it to the wrong address".

Ombudsman - did nothing - I guess they didn't want to change their reputation by working in the best interest of the customer for a change.
They always say to work it out with the banker - but if we could work it out with the banker - we would have.

bye

I know why they want all the paperwork filled to see if i have any liquid assets because they know i have a home and that isn't liquid enough for them. It's the question they ask about the gift part they would never find out if the spent the money on gifts, sooner or later they will settle without the paperwork. The lawyer that has my matter will give up sooner or later because lawyer have no patience for this stuff and want money now.

RBC Visa is trying to establish whether you're illiquid or if you simply don't want to pay off your debts as agreed.

They want to make sure that you didn't spend the money on "gifts" one day and then try to settle with them the next.

I'm sure their lawyers have spent a good amount of time putting their required documentation together.

RBC VISA

Postby jeromeb » Fri Dec 14, 2007 01:36:33 PM

I would like to know if anyone has settled a debt with RBC VISA before.I am going through the process and they are the only creditor out there that want over 20 pages filled out and notarized by a lawyer. One of the pages asked if i gave gifts that were over $750.00 in the last five years.I wonder who made these policies up and they should get him or her checked out to see if he or she is on crack.
