Actually I'm very impressed with TD Canadatrust..
They've got the best facebook group by far... It's called the TD Money Lounge, and it has 21000+ members.

It's a public relations group created by TD Canada Trust, and they seem to be the only bank so far to get on the band wagon...
After all, isn't it people that give the bank its business?

It's about time Canadians are waking up. If the banks want to make billions every quarter they better start respecting their customers.

I am not surprised about capital one because they make people think that you will get their security deposit back someday and they don’t unless you close your account. I find this misleading, dishonest and shady.

lol... average_joe... i thought you would like this post..
Yeah... there were over 200 people on this group, and they weren't happy.

RBC should really step in if they see a group like this and do some customer service.

I'm seeing a Capital One boycott group on facebook.. they're pretty disenchanted with Capital one!!

I stated in the past RBC is the worst of all major banks in Canada. The only reason this individual received their money back is because of the pressure they applied from others or otherwise it would tough luck. In my opinion they are the sneakiest, sleaziest and will not go out of their way to help you and that is from my own experience and others I know that dealt with them in the past.

Using Facebook to Deal with Royal Bank of Canada (RBC)?

Postby montyloree » Thu Jan 21, 2010 05:44:02 AM

I was searching around on facebooks for Canadian Banks on Facebook.
I noticed this group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&ref=mf&gid=201592112690 there are 179 members.

This person went through alot of trouble to get their $8000 money back.
The whole situation was probably a human error on the part of RBC, however, it's really bad publicity when people start talking on facebook.

the following info was posted on Facebook Groups:
In the month of November my wife Afshan Azam's savings account @ the royal bank in kirkland was frauded in a span of 4-6 days for about 8000$. The bank never alerted her until recently when she decided to make her monthly deposit about a week ago.Upon investigation these fraudsters made purchases(over 4-6 days ) at various locations such as Future Shop,Best Buy,Style Exchange,Mr Lube etc...
The purpose for this account was to have savings made for my two little babies for the present and their future (Sarah and Haadi).During the investigation the bank found out that my father had made two deposits on my wife's behalf when she was sick and out of town, just on this one incident of a deposit the bank believes my wife has lost her rights to the account and won't return the money that the fraudsters have spent. The history of this account is pretty simple its only used for deposits/savings and sometimes emergencies, based on the banks bogus investigation skills they initially said that I wouldn't be getting my money back. case closed no arguements, as of today they have reopend my case realizing their lack of judgment and told me I might get my money back, the point is my wife didn't do anything wrong other than trust Royal Bank, and because she did that somebody stole her identity and our kids savings, I just wanna make sure that we get our money back and in the future this happens to no one!!!!!!!!!what a way to spend the holidays!!!!!!

It appears that the situation was resolved, as Hus Raul made this message on the group's wall

Hus Raul "Dec 18, 2009 ~ just would like to thank evrybody for their support and getting the word around Really Really apreciate it! Good news just came about a minute ago everything is now officially back to normal got my kids dough back now have to go open a new account! thx alot guys & gals enjoy the holidays!!!!!!!!!!!ALWAYS STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS and YOUR hard earned dough!"
