I'm surprised Rogers still has a business. I was once a Rogers’s customer and I left because of the customer service bad attitude and the way their billing system was set up. If your debt is with cbv collections I would offer them 10% to settle your debt. If they accept that’s great and if they don't they will counter offer. If they agree to a settlement offer make sure you get the offer in writing before you hand over the money.

Have been fighting with Rogers for some time over a bill, and they claim it has been passed to collections and there is nothing they can do. as far as the front line person who never allows me to speak to their supervisor tells me. The collection agency is CBV a very difficult company to deal with, they seem to hire menopausal women to handle these accounts, and just seem to be abrasive to the point of ignorance. I am willing to negotiate It is over roaming charges . Any advice would be helpful, but Rogers always had poor service from, I should have googled them first before I signed up.

Thanks, average_joe. I thought it was important to share as much information on the Board as possible, for those fly-by visitors under stress.

Libertyrides,

I used that letter a few times. I made a few changes, so it won't look too professional.

If the collection agency is not willing to negotiate a settlement that you can afford, call the creditor and have them look over your matter. I settled most of my debts with the creditors, even when my debts were in collections.

Talking with a collector who refuses to budge can be a very frustrating experience. If this happens to you, there are three options available to you:

* Terminate the call, but do so as politely as possible, using profane language only makes things worse. Remember, most calls are actually monitored and recorded.
* Ask to speak to a supervisor or department manager. These individuals want to make reasonable payment arrangements or settlements.
* Write a letter addressed to the department manager or the president of the company outlining your plan to pay off or settle the account. Be very specific in regards to the dollar amount you will be paying and the dates you will be making the payments.

Yooo hooo.. AJ.. .coffee's on.. banana bread's ready. Come out, come out wherever you are!! :)

I was wondering if you'd ever used a letter like this, and if so, how it was received by the companies you sent it to? I plan on using it but I don't have any results to comment on yet..

Would you make any changes to the original text? Any other suggestions, additions or deletions?

(I'm so subtle, eh? lol)
