Well it is now September. Rogers recently approved me for an iPhone...even though iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency had said I owed them (Rogers) money. iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency has never called me again since my original post. I still contend you can get them to stop calling.

Just an update

Postby jordybubba » Thu Mar 27, 2008 05:57:56 AM

It is March now, obviously, and I still have not received any more phone calls from iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency . They do make mistakes and you can beat them at their own game!

jordybubba, my apologies, I guess it was the way I took your post. Anyway, a lot of collectors are real pricks right from the start, unfortunately even to third parties.

I don't know perhaps in the midst of your conversation with this collector they had figured you were the wrong party and removed your phone number. How the couldn't find your name in the system baffles me, as they never remove an account -- so, if they had the correct person, you would have been able to give them the name and they should have been able to pull it up that way.

As I said, Rogers does pull accounts sometimes in the small time window of 3 months, so hopefully you don't end up in another agency. Good luck.

I was very polite at first. The lady I was speaking to was obnoxious, completely unwilling to even consider a mistake may have occurred, lied to me about the law (since confirmed by my lawyer buddies) dealing with stale dated debt, called me names, and introduced herself by asking when I intended to pay. We all do jobs, we don't all do them rudely. If I acted the way she acted I would be fired.
We also double checked all or our phone accounts...we have never had a rogers account for a home phone.....ever...Bell has us as customers since 1989?!?

Not sure who pissed in your cornflakes but there are some of us who try to be nice but will not be taken advantage of by rude people. And they haven't called now for two weeks when they were calling two-three times a day.
Merry Holidays.

---
I think asking for all the little details and sounding professional must have scared them off?!?!?
---

You actually yelled at a woman for just doing her job? That's pretty amazing! I mean, she gets this file saying you subscribed to a Rogers service and you never paid. She calls you, and confirms right party contact. She informs you that you had this service. You knowing you didn't decide to take your anger (??) out on the collector instead of initially requesting information as someone could have defraud you? The first thing in my mind would be curiosity, not anger.

As far as asking for the account details so you could inquire about them with Rogers, that wouldn't have scared anyone off, that's just (edited for language). I'm pretty sure iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency works Rogers first assign accounts. That means, the service could have been installed in your old apartment 7 years ago, you just forgot to remove it, and who ever moved in had the service automatically installed. Surprisingly perhaps paid it, then stopped. As far as Rogers not being able to pull the account, who knows -- they're all a bunch of losers over there anyway.

I doubt it's the last you've heard of them anyway. Rogers likes to pull accounts from agencies anywhere from every 3-6 months.

"They took me off their list in an hour

Postby jordybubba » Sat Dec 01, 2007 02:14:40 PM

These yahoo's have been calling me for weeks. I finally called them back.
First conversation was really confusing. I owed money from a rogers home phone I had in an apartment I lived in 7 years ago. Since I could not remember ever having a rogers home phone I was a little confused. Yelled a little at first then hung up. Called back in five minutes and got the same girl. Acted real calm cool and professional asking for all the little details. Account numbers, phone number on the account, dates of bill not paid, exact spelling of the names on the account, dates account was sent to collections, exact spelling of the lady's name I was speaking to, et cetera.
called rogers with details - they had no record of me on the account number I was quoted, the address on file with rogers was in halifax as was the phone, I have never lived in Halifax.
Called the ombudsman and left her a message with the salient details then called iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency back.
when the guy answered I told him I was recording the conversation. He was confused. Told him my name and number and he couldn't find it in their call list. He said it must have been removed.
This was over the course of one hour on a Saturday. I think asking for all the little details and sounding professional must have scared them off?!?!?
Will keep you all updated but hopefully they won't be bugging me anymore.
