You got it right on the money. Ever thought of a new career? They call my cell everyday, sometimes two or three times a day for the last 4 months. I just ignore them now.

That is standard CRS. In fact, I can quote them verbatim... hello this is xxxxx calling from the legal department of Contact Resource Services. The attorney and I, we've just completed an assets evaluation on you for legal action including liens on any property. You need to call us at..... and quote file number... please govern yourself accordingly and responsibly.

yeah, yeah, yeah.

What...

.... ever.,

That's not the way of "The Donald." Recall his words in Toronto last month, just before he gave the guy above "a bad hair day."

"Get even! When someone screws you, screw them back in spades! I really mean it! You gotta hit people hard!"

Donald F. Trump

Yeah, just remember how my April 21, 2007 [thread 466] article showed how "The Donald" applied the "Jackson Method" to Vince McMahon went he got out of line.

Yeah, he's not too concerned about them. He's pretty low key about life. I just don't like people trying to take advantage of my dad. I suspect THEY are. I'm hoping to have LOTS of fun on the phone tomorrow. =)

I'lll report back my findings. =)

And so it begins ... =)

IMHO: If I was 73, I'd be a lot more concerned about the judge upstairs than any judge in a court down here.

So my 73 year old father received a voicemail from "CRS" (it was rather garbled - had to phone the 1-866 number they left to figure out who it was - of course, their office was CLOSED!).

Long and short of it ... they're claiming he had an agreement a few months ago to pay $50 to his outstanding account and it wasn't enough and they need him to contact them ASAP to avoid legal action.

Funny thing is -- he HAS no outstanding accounts with anyone and has NO idea what this may be about. Of course, their message didn't say what "company" this debt was for.

The person that left the voicemail was "Danielle from CRS" and her and a member of their legal team were reviewing his file ...

RIGHT!!!

I'm going to follow up on this (hopefully this weekend) to see what's up. I'm not sure if they'll give me any info on his behalf but we'll see.

Could get interesting.

Ya know, it ticks me off that they're calling a 73 year old man about this. Thankfully he's totally heads up and actually laughed about the call when he told me about it.

How many other elderly people are getting phone calls like this and are MORTIFIED that they may face legal action and are willing to pay to keep that from happening! When they DON'T OWE any money!

I just want to say THANK YOU to this site and to everyone that posted something about this company. You were my first hit on google and feel like I won the "lottery" with the info you have here.

I'll make sure I let you know what transpired.

Oh, and sorry for writing a book. I'm just p***ed about this right now.

More later.

I checked my cell phone number, they have called each day for the last week...I hope they get paid by the hour. Again, I can't thank you enough and this site for easing what was seemingly going to be a huge burden.

Oh well, at least they got a nibble. Maybe the next fish will take the bait - hook, line and s(t)inker.

attempt to collect

Postby outlaw_40 » Thu Jun 28, 2007 06:35:09 PM

The Contact Resource people sent me a letter stating that a 1500.00 from 1992-3 was now 5000.00 and that if I made payments each month they'd accept the original debt amount. I called them, 'cause I had NO idea what they were referring to in this letter. The lady said that I could write and offer a settlement amount that she would bring to her supervisor and he'd decide. I wrote a letter explaining this was not mine etc. and said I might be able to come up with 300.00 and that's it. I only then received about a call a day from them, but answered none. It was then I found this site, thank goodness. I'm in Ontario.

Good advice from Angella... don't give your SIN.

My question to you... what province are you in and did the collection agency send you a collection notice before calling?

Also, if they gave a return phone number, do you know what province that number is in???
