Considering they're taking transunion to court over the very same issue in 2 weeks, ....maybe the person you spoke with has no clue. Best to put your complaint in writing, quote their legislation of the credit reporting act 109(o), you can also look up the court case online and quote that to them.......pretty hard for a receptionist to quote its not in their jurisdiction when they are going to trial for the exact same issue with someone else's case..... and/or see if you can talk or write a letter to Morris Redekopp, since he handled my case and wrote the letters to both credit bureaus as well as the compliance order to Transunion.

maybe they are waiting on the outcome of the court case to see where their jurisdiction lies based on the Supreme Court ruling.....

I actually called Consumer Protection BC and the person I spoke to was not interested at all! He told me that they have no jurisdiction over it and that I was basically SOL.

The whole thing is ridiculous.

Please read my posts in this thread, in regards to your problem. I think Consumer Protection BC would be very interested in your complaint. Good luck!

Can't creditors see that there are inquires from Credit Collection agencies and deny credit because of it?

Might be wise to get an official answer from Equifax, rather then depending on one from this forum. See how it benefited you with your previous question.

Just my 2 cents... Cheers!

No answer as to why just that's the way it is. Total runaround.

average_joe will this not have any impact on being able to acquire credit? Can't creditors see that there are inquires from Credit Collection agencies and deny credit because of it?

I wouldn't worry about it. Any of your hard inquiries over three years old will not impact your credit score.

All right, fair enough. They didn't lie to you, but did they give you an explanation for why that is? Or did they just brush it off as corporate policy?

So far they have proven to be most UNHELPFUL!

So yup they keep a minimum of five inquiries even if the inquiries are more than 3 years old. Total BS!
