Here is a link for you to read from the
Government of Sask about credit reporting.
http://www.justice.gov.sk.ca/Credit-Reporting-Act

From what I understand from reading it the debt occurred

over 6 years ago it can't be reported on your credit
report. Don't be surprised about the lies that debt collectors
will try to tell you to get you to pay. My advice is ignore

them if they continue to call. But there is also the moral

obligation to still pay the bill. Offer them say 30% of the full amount.

If they don't take it, laugh at them and hang up.

Thank you very much for the reply and information. I think the collections person was saying that if she reports it to the two credit agencies, that it will go onto the credit report. So then, it wouldn't, because the date of the bill is from 2004? Is it normal for the collections person not to have that information, the date that the debt occurred?

SOL for Saskatchewan is 2 years I think. Not too sure

about verbal acknowledgement. Most provinces require
written. Also it goes from date of last activity on your credit report witch
means the last time you made a payment on that bill. Check your Equifax and Transunion report to see if anything shows up. Also if your last payment
was 2004 the debt can't show up on your credit report anyways. I think in Sask is either after 6 or 7 years a debt becomes un-collectible and it can't be reported to your credit. Don't quote me on this though. I'm more familiar with Alberta's laws.

medical bill gone to collections

There was a small medical bill of $90 from 2004 that was sent to a collections agency this year. Has the SoL expired? If it goes on my credit rating, is it the 2004 date or the 2012 date that gets used, since it was only sent to collections now? Does verbal acknowledgement of debt matter in this province, or only written? Thanks!
