hey Vivek,

a great place to look for dirt on companies are:

http://news.google.com

example.
rbc lawsuit location:canada -news.google.com
gives you a whole bunch of news on RBC...
Notice I"m using the Location:Canada in the search. That helps you get news that's meant only for Canada

The internet is a great place and I want CMA to have as many links to these outside blogs and forums, to make CMA the main source.

I too have had similar incidents where I lost $100 because of NSF charges because the bank kept holding my deposit. Not once can you reason with the bank to reverse charges. Actually The Toronto Star also had an article about bank fees and having the government do something about them. Even Stephan Harper finds them annoying too!

Thank god for Scotia, when one of my cheques didn't have enough money, they only charged me a low $5 rather then $35!

I will be posting on BMO soon! (Lots of complaints there)

Hey Vivek,
You still love RBC bank don't you.

Hilarious.. it's amazing that when a company really pisses a person off, as D&A Collection did many years ago, a person wants to talk about it over and over again!

That's what the companies don't realize. And... the internet is a great place to do that because it's public.!

Hey Jared, every accidentaly bounced a check or missed a payment of some sort? If you did you would know that RBC NEVER says sh*t happens when you screw up....it costs $25/per screw up.....

This is one of the reasons I left RBC. I had a little hiccup in deposits and it cost me close to $100, with my student loans and mortgage being a couple of days late....the fees were non-negotable, they were taken out of my account immediately and my sh*t happens excuse got laughed right out of the bank....

DO NOT GIVE THEM A BREAK, THEY WILL NEVER, NEVER GIVE YOU ONE !!!!!

How people are replying to this:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I dont blame you at all Sarah!! I wonder if they will put $25 in each account they screwed up. I know they take that amount when you screw up, it seems only fair.

I doubt they will tho, thats one of the reasons I moved all my banking away from RBC about 2 years ago.....

bye bye RBC !!

An Open Letter To RBC Financial

Dear Canada's Largest Financial Institution,

I have been one of your clients since the age of 5, when my mom first took me to a mall branch of the Royal Bank to open My First Savings Account. The account never did amount to much....I kept withdrawing the money to buy My Little Ponies, so my deposits never accrued much interest.

This past week, you've fallen on some hard times. Those computer problems have really screwed things up for your profit margins. Your stock is falling, and your clients are getting angry. In this troubling time, I just want you to know that I am prepared to offer you the same level of commitment and loyalty that you have shown me all these years.

That is why, when you finally do get your transactions sorted out, and my balance actually reflects the amount of money I have in my accounts with you (an interesting point worth noting: you seem to have no problem withdrawing my loan or credit line interest payments without being able to deposit my paycheque correctly, even though those transactions were scheduled to occur the same day), I plan on closing all of them and getting the hell out of Dodge.

I also plan on encouraging my friends to do the same.
