You may notice my other post, but Home Trust no longer offers interest on your security deposit. I just canceled mine a week ago and the customer service rep informed that I would be getting nothing more than my deposit ( minus the 9 dollar balance, and I'm sure some bogus fees). She said this is a recent decision. I sure as heck don't remember ever receiving anything telling me that I won't be getting my 2%. And I had that card for about 7 yrs with a 1k deposit. It wouldn't add up to much, still, but it's the random policy decision that sort of irks me. So they just decide that I'm no longer entitled to what I was told I was entitled to when I signed up?

Home Trust is implementing a new project. this project involve Gemalto which will manage and handle the migration to EMV smart payment cards. watch out as Home Trust will issue new credit cards.

The Canadian Visa vendor Home Trust has selected Gemalto to manage its migration to EMV smart payment cards. Up until now the company has supplied only magnetic strip payment cards. With the support of Gemalto, Home Trust will begin issuing the new cards through pilot programs in Ontario.

The hope of Home Trust is to completely covert to the EMV. The selection of Gemalto comes with microprocessor payment cards as well as data preparation and personalization. In addition Gemalto is providing training on EMV conversion to Home Trust associates.

Can I fax in my application?
Home Trust Secured visa application by going here and clicking on the APPLY NOW Button

You can only send in your application by fax if you have paid your security deposit through Western Union and indicated the money control number on your application. The fax number is:

1-877-989-9979.

So before you fax in anything, go to Western Union first.

At Western Union, you will be given a Quick Collect Payment Form. Fill it out as follows:

Pay to: Home Trust VISA
Code City: HOMEVISA
Province: Ontario

When the funds have been sent, you will be given a "money control number". This number must be indicated at the bottom of the application form.

Hi bebzkohsev. No you don't need a co-signor to qualify for a hometrust visa unless you want to add a co-signor. This will increase your chance of approval, but nonetheless, there's no need for it unless you really want to add one. ust make sure that your co-signor has a good credit score.

I hope that helps.

Hi there. I've been looking around the site and I'm just wondering, what's the difference between a HomeTrust Secured Visa and the secured cards offered by Capital One? I noticed that Capital One has an annual fee but the security deposit is very minimal (as low as $75) while the HomeTrust Secured Visa requires a deposit of $500.

For that matter, how would you benefit from a HomeTrust Secured Visa
as compared to the Capital One's secured cards?
