Credit report is a record of an individual's or company's past borrowing and repaying, including information about late payments and bankruptcy. The term "credit reputation" can either be used synonymous to credit report or to credit score.

I had no choice. I work for the Public Service and needed a higher security clearence and since my credit was an issue with the realiability clearence (I had to write a letter explaining what happened & what I'm doing to resolve it) - when they did the secret clearence it was again an issue - I don't want to lose my job, if again in 5 years my credit is still an issue for my security clearence they may not give it to me. Thanks

Hmm so you passed the SoL and you went out of your way to start paying them after all this time? Why?

Depends on several things regarding your credit. Sometimes it's all bullcrap. Theirs always a company out there that will give you credit/loans. Since you're making money now you shouldn't have problems getting a card. Go with Capital One Mastercard I say, they're usually more lenient.

Consumer Proposal

Postby vrogan79 » Mon Jun 06, 2011 07:27:52 AM

I had been neglecting my debts for the last 2 years - I guess you could say I was "lucky" that they never filled suit against me. September 2010, I decided it was fianlly time to do something about it. I went to Doyle Solewski and agreed to a consumer proposal instead of bankruptcy. I pay $140.00 every 2 weeks for 3 years (total $10,000.00). My question is when I can start to rebuild my credit? When will credit card companies give me another chance? or will they ever? I am on the right track now - I have learnt to budget and control my spending, I am not living paycheck to paycheck anymore. I actually have money in the bank. I should have done this a long time, but I am glad I finally did. Now I would like to start to rebuild and even get a mortgage to buy a house. When can I expect this to come off my credit report?
