You were asking for some insight. Well, OK! Collection agents are all liars! If you assume that you'll never go far wrong. Why do you think they left it unsigned?

I did receive a release letter that did not have the supervisor’s signature on it. If I were you I would make sure the settlement agreement is signed before you hand over your money.

Without a signature of an authorized representative of MBNA, the settlement offer is NULL AND VOID. Do not pay a cent until you receive a signed settlement offer from MBNA and I don't mean over the signature of a secretary. What MBNA told you is "crap". I'm surprised to hear this comment because MBNA is a reputable company and they know the rules as well as you do.

Received a settlement offer which was unsigned. MBNA insists this is standard. I would like some insight.
