Enough said: Footloose's summation is all that's needed then - unless you give them a few gratuitious comments on what you think of collection agents. You wouldn't want to do that....would you?

I am in no way connected to this debt. I did not sign for any of it nore did I purchase anything with his card.

Did you at any time use your father's cards or did he sign you on a user?

Refer all future collection calls to the executor/executrix of the estate. That person is the only one that can legally deal with any debts of the testator

( maker of the will, namely your father ). You are simply out of the picture and have no authority to deal with such matters.

Deceased Father's Debt

Postby HollyKB69 » Wed Oct 06, 2010 09:53:00 AM

My Father passed away almost two years ago. I was not the executor of the will nor did I receive any inheritance. Him and his girlfriend had credit card debt that was not dealt with and has now been referred to Collect Corp. His girlfriend had secondary credit cards but the primary account holder was my Father. Collect Corp is now harassing me for payment. Do I have any legal obligation to this debt?
