FWIW, if I'm faxing 3 pages or less I use faxzero.com.

To receive faxes I use k7.net

Both are free and online.

Good Idea Ottawa Chap. I looked at fax machines, I did not realize how expensive they are.

Buy a fax machine? Why not just go down to your local Staples (Business Depot) and fax from there? I use a spot up the road that charges me $1.00/page anywhere in Canada. Works great for me given that I only have a Cel phone. ... Just an idea.

Fax is going to be the method I choose should I need to send a second request to TransUnion. Will give 'em another week before re-submitting.

FWIW: I sent my requests in via Standard Post approximately a month back. Equifax returned my credit report within 2 weeks, TransUnion appears to have lost the request.

equifax is pretty highly regulated... it's pretty safe..If it's not necessary I wouldn't give it to them. your social insurance number is an important number

I've ordered my free credit report by mail several times.
I don't give them my SIN as I have a uncommon name and I've lived at the same address for many years...

If your name is John Smith and your son is John Smith then you may have to give them your social insurance... it all depends on how much info theyneed to confirm that you are who you say you are.

Should I give them my SIN number. they say it is optional? And Equifax seems to have a order your Free credit report by phone. Has anyone ever done this?
