Advantages of Using a Prepaid Credit Card

There are many benefits to using a prepaid credit card.

A prepaid credit, also known as a secured credit card

is defined by bank rate as a credit card that, “…requires

a cash collateral deposit that becomes the credit line for

that account

Capital 1 has a secured card...A secured credit card will allow me to get better credit with the credit bureau in a way I don't think I could do otherwise.at first it seems a little unusual to pay for a credit card, however my credit has been bad lately and I need to repair it very quickly.I also think I've repented of my credit sins and need to get on with things.

I love the idea of secure credit cards... at first it seems a little unusual to pay for a credit card, however my credit has been bad lately and I need to repair it very quickly. I think I've repented of my credit sins and need to get on with things.

A secured credit card will allow me to get better credit with the credit bureau in a way I don't think I could do otherwise.

I've been in a catch 22 situation.. Bad credit means no credit cards which means no credit rating. Secured credit cards will help me break that cycle finally. I hate putting out the money for it, however, that's the price to pay for my foolish youth.!

Hi Joan,
Thanks for the post,

I was under the impression that Capital 1 cards were by invitation only. In some/all cases Capital 1 will only give those types of cards to those who they are are marketing to.

I called them at one point to ask if they would give credit cards to people who called them, not from any form of direct marketing, and Capital 1 said that they only give high risk type credit cards to the people they direct market to.

I didn't understand the logic in that, but that's what they said at the time.

I would be interested to hear if anybody else has a new and different experience.
