Some credit card providers and lenders charge as a very high rate of interest on your balance and it can be difficult to dig your way out of debt quickly if you are in this situation. However, there are numerous banks offering low interest credit cards and you should consider switching your balance to one of these if you want to stop your balance from ballooning.

These days, it seems like credit card companies just can't stop battling each other for new customers by offering competitive rates on credit cards and balance transfer offers. You may have even received an offer for a low interest credit card in the mail recently.

Low interest credit cards offer extremely low rates of interest on balance transfers from other credit card or new purchases over an introductory period. Some providers of low interest credit cards will even go so far as to charge you 0% interest for an introductory period of one year.

your right juicer10.. you can definitely use the credit card in any transactions and get benefits out of it. as long as the card is being used then there is no reason for the card issuer not to give you any benefit that they are offering. what credit card issuers want is to use the card as often as possible so that they will be able to get revenue out of the interest they charge in times that the card holder doesn't pay off the bills due for settlement.

by the way juicer10, what credit card are you currently holding?

hello there LizPid

i have read your post last July 11. how was your trip to Thailand?
did you see all the best sights there? how was the food? was it truly spicy and hot that made your taste buds on fire?

your main concern was about the selecting between a low interest or a travel rewards credit card to use. what credit card do you have now? did you use the credit card when you got your airline ticket as well as your hotel reservations and other expenses made?

The main thing to know about low interest credit cards is that it will help save you money.. especially if you're the type to carry a balance on your credit card...

If you're carrying a balance on a high interest credit card, your first goal should be to lower your interest costs... you need to spend less money on interest if possible... take the money that you save on interest and bank it... it's free money...

hi..

that Capital One SmatLine card is a great card. it does have a low interest rate of 5.99% for 3 years but take note that you must pay your bills on time. however, if you wish to see other cards that are more or less of the same benefits and features of the card you have chosen then i can give you a link.

here is the link:
/low-interest-credit-cards.html

make sure that you have excellent credit history to get the card but if in case you haven't reach such level then you can check out the Capital One - Gold MasterCard 11.99% Guaranteed for 3 Years (as long as you pay your bills on time)!

it do have the same feature of Capital One SmartLine but the only difference is the interest rate which is at 11.99% but still this is considered low compare to other credit cards. i also have another card to endorse and that is the MBNA- Gold MasterCard®- Fixed 9.99% AIR which is also one of the finest low interest card.

Compare these cards from your chosen card. im sure you will see and decide which card really is best for you.

hey there,

i have been using a CIBC credit card carrying $3500 about 3 months now. i have been surfing the net for low interest credit card. every time i read on the card details, i always encounter the requirement of having a good or excellent credit history. i have seen this card which is Capital One SmartLine Platinum MasterCard. the benefits of this card is interesting.

• No Annual Fee which means less responsibility on payments.
• 19.8% interest on Cash Advances is not a good rate for this kind of card service.
• 5.99% on Purchases and Balance transfers guaranteed for 3 years. This must require the card holder to sustain agreement status. The interest rate switches to a variable rate of Prime +3.75% on purchases and balance transfers after 3 years of being a card user for the company.
• Balance transfers don’t entail any fee or charges.

i like this card because it offers 5.99% interest for 3 year which mean it give me 3 year of good savings. however, my big problem is that it requires an excellent history. i don't have that kind of credit history yet.

is there a card having such kinds of benefits that only requires a fair credit history or a different card that do offer low interest rate? any of which can be a good card for me.

hi..

as i have read your post, you have mentioned that you want to collect travel rewards points which are offered only by rewards cards. this means that you should get a rewards cards to earn points in order to redeem flight tickets for your next trip.

i can suggest few cards that you can choose from.

CIBC Aerogold® Visa™ Card

List of CIBC Aerogold Visa™ Card benefits
• 15, 000 bonus Aeroplan® Miles on the first purchase of the card which is equivalent to one economy class short-haul flight at the ClassicFlight® reward level.

• 1.5 Aeroplan Miles awarded for purchasing gas, groceries and items from the drugstores.
• Aeroplan participating partners also give additional points when you use the card at their stores or shops.
• Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz including Executive Class/Executive First 1 are given free access for the card users for the available seat only.
• CIBC guarantees the client that points earned will not be lost even being inactive for 12 months.

Earning points with Miles Platinum Plus MasterCard by:
• Every dollar spent during purchases with the card is equivalent to 2 reward miles points.
• When receiving the card, the first time you use the card would instantly entitle you 25, 000 bonus reward miles point that can redeem rewards.
• Doing balance transfers and cash advance doesn’t have an equivalent reward point.

Furthermore, the Miles Platinum Plus MasterCard is completely different from other reward credit cards like Aeroplan or Airmiles because these companies don’t cover the air fare taxes as well as the terminal fees. Miles Platinum Plus MasterCard covers everything which means that it lessens the burden and expense of the card holders. Hence, it provides comfort and a hassle-free travel.

I am thinking of traveling to Thailand, but I need to borrow some money for the plane tickets, and accommodations. Should I use a low interest credit card or travel rewards for this trip?

I had a good job so I can make payments and pay this off over the next 12 months. I don't want to pay a lot of interest but I was hoping to collect travel rewards for my next trip. What should I do?

I really want to travel to Thailand as it's a place that I've always wanted to visit. Try out the foods, see the sights, see the people and the culture.

I hear the food in Thailand is hot and spicy.

I would be interested to hear other people's experiences if they use a credit card and pay it off over the 12 months.
Live each day as it was your first!
