Well things are starting to improve today. But they removed the wrong cibc account yesterday and of course I had to call them this morning about it.

3 hour sleeps every night is taking its toll on me.

Equifax credit watch service is horrible in my opinion.

All in all a very stressful week.

Thanks

Well I have Winston a manager at Cibc National Collections investigating this this afternoon and was promised they would have my trans and equifax resolved. Just confirmed and they the fraudulent account they put on has been removed.

I also received documentation from CIBC that they were removing it. Proof.
I also have proof from Equifax that my FICO was 651 before they did this.
My fico is now 565 this is after they hit my account twice hard and reported a R9.

I have started action with cibc customer care and had it escalated too senior urgent three times today and nobody called me after being told they would.

My next step is ombudsman by 830 mountain time tomorrow.
I already have been approached by another bank.

If nothing is rectified by 2pm with cibc I well be pursuing different avenues.

If you had a larger down payment it wouldn't matter as much but you are in a tough spot. Did you try speaking to an independent mortgage broker?

I know a guy who used to live up in Yellowknife ( I see you are from NT), he lives in AB now but might be able to help since he knows lenders that take care of your area.

I haven't talked to him in a few years but see if you can locate "Cliff Sabrish" - I think thats how his name is spelled.

Yeah it well be cleared off this October from the last activity which was Oct 2004. There is a 6 years to clear off for this.

But what irritates me is there fraudulent information they put on my credit report that has adversely affected my chances of mortgages and visa.

So much irritation that one has too contemplate litigation procedures since they would.

If the debt is over seven years old it shouldn't be showing on your credit file whether you paid it or not by law.

National Collections Cibc have admitted it was their fault that they admitted eroneous information to my credit report aka fraudulent.

There should be only 1 on the report not 2.

Are the R9's from debts that were over seven years ago?

screwed up credit

Postby buckhorn » Wed May 12, 2010 08:02:32 PM

Hi

7 years ago I thought my bank accounts were closed but my personal one with a 300 dollar overdraft was not this was sent into collections due to me moving out of province.

3 months ago I called National collections and they told me to call common collections. I did and paid. They notified cibc and I have the clearance papers from common collections. It was reported to equifax and now it is paid okay great.
BUT here we go National Collections CIBC reported to equifax another account (the difference is a 2 not a zero in the 15 digit account number and they admitted to screwing up.
What happened is now I have 2 r9's on my credit and dropped from 651 to 559.
CIBC now says I cannot have a mortgage due to their screwup even though I have 30,000 for a down payment, make 90,000 a year and the mortgage is for 205,000.

So tomorrow calling the ombudsman, calling national collections again and a lawyer.

Any other suggestions?
