Bonnie, it is possible that the collector who called you was not aware that you sent them the letter. Remember, it takes a few days for the entire staff there to remove you from their system, including the annoying robo calls. A call centre of over 100 can take a while for them to acknowledge the letter to cease and desist.
If it continues to persist, send them a cease and desist letter stating that you do not owe the debt and refer the matter to the courts. Since the stats are barred, they won't. They are LEGALLY required to stop. If they do not, complain to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and make sure you record all calls after the letter arrived.
