Payday lending is a very expensive service... it is sanctioned by the government, so it is legal....

The people who use it either aren't terribly well educated, have very bad credit, or are new to Canada...

I know of some workers who work at the Loblaws warehouse in Regina... they are from the phillipines... they've been here for a few months and don't have bank accounts at the major banks... they are constantly going to Money Mart.... for them it serves a purpose.

I've heard of people with such bad credit that banks won't give them bank accounts.. they have no way of cashing a cheque... even homeless people...

The people who really need it, are the innocent general public. This place is full of critics who side with large corporate scammers. Nobody here tried to help Justice4,Boxerbob or stevevfchater. All who had valid issues, and still do. If all the "Somalian pirates" left, we would have more people like justice4.

A school teacher that got scammed by a car dealership and then enforced by the bank and ultimately use the federal government to finish their dirty work. She never even took the vehicle off the lot. You people should be ashamed of yourselves.

Extortion is distinguished from robbery. In robbery, whether armed or not, the offender takes property from the victim by the immediate use of force or fear that force will be immediately used (as in the classic movie line, "Your money or your life.") Extortion, which is not limited to the taking of property, involves the verbal or written instillation of fear that something will happen to the victim if he or she does not comply with the extortionist's will. Another key distinction is that extortion always involves a verbal or written threat, whereas robbery does not.

RIP I concur! The forum had the potential to become a blog with a positive purpose, but instead has fallen to levels beyond repair. It can no longer seem to attract new and positive contributors who are eager to answer financial questions by those in a rut, or, the ones who simply seeking out financial guidance; instead it acts mainly as a social ground for the crooks and criminals aiming to team up their dark-side skillsets.

When Monty eventually decides to reflect on this failure, he'll have no one to blame for it but himself.
Infuriating one C/A at a time..

Interesting. Nobody has any comments on this subject, yet majority of the members here consider themselves advisers. Go ahead Hankety, hit the spam button and call it a day...........
