The best thing to do is ensure there is no money in any branch of that bank that issued the card, as they can take it under Right of Setoff laws without any court proceeding.

The bank refused to take my wife off the account. If I declare bankruptcy, will it affect my wife? I wish to be solely responsible for this debt
