With the number of students increasing in the country of Canada there has also been a simultaneous increase in the number of credit cards for them. Considering the needs of students and the amount of money that they get and how much they can spend, credit cards have been designed to meet these basic essentials of the student community.

Here are some of the student credit cards in the country of Canada which have been designed for the student community who do not require any income. This is one reason why these are one of the first student credit cards to establish a history of credit. You can now apply for these student credit cards online.

hi..

i think what your saying is partly true but credit cards for students do require a good credit history which means that any student that wishes to have the card have already experienced using credit cards in the past.

moreover, having a good credit history mean that they are good card users as well as payers because building a good credit history is not easy especially keeping it in that status.

so, student that applies for such cards are financially capable of paying off their billing statements.

Yikes... this is scary, credit cards for students. IMO...a student shouldn't have a credit card unless they got cash in the bank with no debt. I'm sure their students that are in the situation, but sadly I fear that most aren't.

Students should stay away from credit cards if they don't have the proper amount of money to make their bill payments every month.

If you're a student, chances are excellent that you have small or no credit record and a little income compared with those who aren't in school around the clock which can make it hard for you to meet the criteria for several credit cards. Loads of these cards include best travel rewards in Canada that can assist in financing that trip overseas or just going home for the holiday. Students can bring into play the card to procure books, clothes and other requirements, and several programs present manifold repayment points for money used up on items necessary to students. Points received can be used towards hotels, flights, or even cash back rewards.

I think students should keep credit cards for emergency purposes only. I mean it's no use burrowing yourself in debt especially if you don't have a solid source of income. Especially since student credit cards are charged higher rates than regular cards. Though I did read somewhere that there are student credit cards available with special rates. I just haven't seen one so far.

ultimately the purpose of a credit card is to be a tool for your finances. If a student doesn't have a lot of money, and they're using the credit card as income then that's a bad thing in my opinion.

Even students need to be able to pay off their credit cards each month, so they need to have enough cash to do that.

If they're using credit cards as an income source like they would a student loan and that is whole other subject.

if a student is going to school and they must have some source of revenue, be it a student loan, savings, or a parent helping out. if they do have an income source then they should be able to use a credit card as normal but paid off at the end of every month.

The bottom line of this is If all you can afford to say $20 to pay off your credit card at the end of the month, that's all you should be charged to your credit card.

This way when you get out of university you will be bogged down with credit card debt.

as far as a secured credit card goes in the situation, it's the same thing. The only benefit is a secured card allows you to obtain the credit card without cosigner. But you still need to pay off your credit card every month

The Best Credit Card Options For Students

Most students don't have any credit history so it's hard for them to get a good credit card deal, but some issuers offer student credit cards. since students are a big credit risk, most credit cards available to them have hugh APR, so it's wise to weigh your options first and don't sign up for the first good deal you find.

It's better for students to get a credit card with low credit limit so they won't spend more than they can. It's also better if they can find a low-interest credit card rather than a rewards credit card if they're not sure they can manage the full payment each month. It's also better if they can find a crefit card that charges no annual fee.

Most importantly, the fine print of the credit card agreement must be read and understood before signing up for anything so we'll know exactly what the other fees are.
