May I assume then that you didn't read all 245 gripping pages of Hoddinott's disastrous trial?

Bloody right there Hank! I've probably had to read over 245pgs of Steve's postings on CMA by now - why should I torment myself again? I'd rather get hit by a food cart! ;-)

No question about it, that's a pretty heavy judgement requested for food tray damages. LOL!! I couldn't even bring myself to read the whole bloody case.

Who invited these low life scum vultures to Canada anyway. We could have done fine without them.

Is selling it to scum like Aktiv their way of getting the last shot at someone because they know Aktiv will be persistent in making life miserable for years to come to the person that had the account with them?

Is that the banks stubborn nature coming out? Wouldn't 20 or 30 percent be better than the potential 0 they most likely would see with a stat barred amount.

Thanks TJ.brooks for your reply. I checked the statement online and the last time I made a payment was July 4, 2011. I got a letter from global credit and collection today offering a settlement of 80%. Also the amount they claim I owe is different from my statement. Please can you advise me on how to go about the settlement.

You will need to know exactly what date in June to be sure it has become Stats barred as they could sue up until that date.

If last payment was made in June 2011 then this June it will become Statute Barred.
At this point you will be in a much better position to negotiate a better settlement.
But do not leave any money in any branch of this bank, as they can seize it under the Right to Setoff laws in Canada.
