After reading the act for NS it is quite different then Ontario.
There is no time limit for making an acknowledgment in writing and signed either by the party or their agent. Unlike Ontario where it must be done prior to the expiry of the SOL no such provision is given in this act. And the acknowledgment then increase the time to 20 yrs.
So any time after the 6 yrs you still reopen the can of worms.
Essentially there is no SOL.
As I read it the SOL is only good if you never acknowledge either in writing or by making a payment.
Ontario's is very specific that an acknowledgment must be made before the 2 yrs is up.
