The next step is they are going to come to your home and take your furniture, TV and any cars you own and then the cops are going to take you to jail lol.

I believe your questions have been answered and just ignore their calls and they will stop in due time. The only reason they are threatening you is because they know the law is not on their side any longer. The debt will only be at their agency for six months and it will get sent back to the creditor.

The next step is just another rude, demanding call with more empty threats.

Just received a message from the collection agency warning me to call back or it will be taken to the next step. What exactly is the next step? Should I just ignore it? As for my banking info, I switched to a new bank that does not have any fees and only 6 months ago. Can they take money from my new bank account?

Average_Joe is correct the debt is stat barred so there is nothing they can legally do.

They can illegally take the money from your bank account but odds are if you choose to not pay a payday loan then you don't have the same bank information as you did then.

Well, I have been waiting over 2 weeks for this letter that they claim to have sent out. I haven't sent anything to them, and I don't plan on it. Thanks again.

The reason I say that because you could re-set the clock if you admit to the debt in writing. The only way they can get money out of your bank account is with a judgment which they could not get now and as for the your tax returns, the gov't is the only one that can get your tax returns.

Thanks. That was the plan, but it helps to put my doubts to rest.

I would ignore him and his false legal threats.
