No. That is horrible advice. Because of all those hits and all that new credit you look like a credit risk.

The number of hard pulls on your credit brings down your score a little. The amount depends on the pattern and how much other credit you already have. Since it sounds like you had no or little credit and you just went on an application frenzy that likely took 20-40 points off your credit score.

Second issue is length of credit history. This is a major factor and it is a combination of how long you have had credit and your average credit length. Getting a whole bunch of new credit brings down your average length. This is likely going to cost you another 20-40 points.

All you can do not is wait. If it was only two cards then maybe applying for a VISA with low standards would be possible but now you are up to 4-5 new cards. I'd say wait at least six months or more realistically 12-18 months.

we have gotten a sears mastercard canadian Tire mastercard We got approved for a American Express which we are not sure we want to use as not alot of places in canada take that one. We also got approved for a local furniture store credit card as we had to buy a frig and did it on the no payment for 60 days All the cards have a 1500 limit and Visa turned us down We were told apply for lots because you wont be accepted so this way you expand your chances of getting credit

Find out your score and then decide. Anything less than 700 and the only cards I would apply for is the Capital One or the Citi Bank. Anything below 675 and I would consider getting a secured card from Capital One.

That was because someone told me if I apply for 3 I would be able to get one approved and Visa I applied for first the other 2 when we got a form in the mail a week later So I would think that Visa would have checked first. I really want a Visa card any chance I can try adn reapply any time soon

It looks like you applied for multiple credit cards at the same time and visa didn't like that or the credit standards might be lower with sears and Canadian tire.

Depending on what VISA card you applied for they might have higher standards. CDN Tire and Sears both have pretty low standards. VISA it depends with something like a BNS Momentum card needing a high 600 -- low 700 and then something like an Infinity needing close to 800.

Also the order matters. You applied for three cards at the same time. If Sears and CDN Tire pulled your credit first then by the time the VISA card went to pull your credit your score would be flagged as someone who is demonstrating credit seeking behavior and that lowers your score.

Okay I dont understand this we got 2 new credit cards in the mail this week We got a Sears Mastercard and a Candian Tire Mastercard But Visa turned us down due to the credit report yet this is the same report that Mastercard used so dont understand how you can get turned down by one company and accepted by 2 others
