I would say that is a long time. I never did like mailing my reports and I found faxing a lot easier and faster. I would call them up or fax the forms.

All 4 requests, (my wife's and mine to both CBs) were mailed on Dec. 13/09. My wife received both reports approx. Jan. 18/10

What date did you exactly send them out?

Thanks...but it seems very strange that "both" reports are lost in the mail, my wife received both of hers, I received nothing. All 4 requests (2 each) were sent by mail to the 2 CBs on the same day.

It sounds yours got lost in the mail. I would fax out your forms again and you should receive them within two weeks.

Do I have a credit file?

Postby RogerTheB » Mon Feb 08, 2010 02:48:09 PM

Hello,

I searched this topic in the forum but could not find a posting.

I sent for my personal credit reports and my wife also sent for hers by mail to both Equifax and Trans Union using their forms and attaching all information requested.

My wife received her reports from both credit bureaus in approx. 3 weeks.

I have received "nothing" (no correspondence at all) from either CB and it has been 8 weeks. I know that I have absolutely no credit history as I have not applied for or had credit in any form in my personal name in over 10 years.

I expected to at least receive information (a report) with my name, address, birthdate etc. But did not expect any trade information on the reports.

Does anyone know why I did not receive anything? Is it possible that neither credit bureau has a credit file in my name? Wouldn't they create one?

Any help/explanation is welcome as I'm perplexed why I received nothing from either bureau and they are not easy to ask.

Thanks,

RogerTheB
