Simple way to get them to stop. I sent them a cease and desist letter by registered mail. And voila! no more communication. Here is the Ontario template link. Just copy and add your info.

MJR was calling me on behalf of my ex who maxed out a card after we divorced and after the 2 year SOL. (I was to cosigner) They called constantly for 3 days 5 times a day by their 4151 number and 2 seconds later by a blocked number.

It cost around 10 dollars to send a registered letter but worth the cost. I checked online at Canada Post. When they accepted the letter the calls stopped. So it worked for me.

One thing though; where it says Pursuant to my rights under ONTARIO REGULATION 103/06 write what I just pasted. It's been updated.

Who is the creditor? If the creditor has an ombudsman department; I would write to them and address your concerns about MJR.

I have been harrassed unbelievably by these collectors and one is a supervisor!! I couldn't get a word in edge wise and when I raised my voice to be heard to explain to them that I knew my rights WOW did that escalate things. Did you know they cannot call any more than 3 times per week? I have been called 3 times in the last 24 hours!!! They are governed by rules like any other company or business. They don't care about rules. I have given them a substantial amount and that's not good enough. I desperately want to clear this debt. Sometimes crappy stuff happens to good people. These folks treat you like you are the lowest piece of trash on the face of the planet! I have given them a solution & it isn't acceptable. I WILL be calling the Minister of Consumer Affairs to report the abuse that these people deal out! I am not a confrontational person in any way shape or form. These people called me confrontational!
