The way you get the judgement corrected on your credit report is call the court house where the judgement was at and get a copy of the amount that they recieved from garnishment and forward that to both credit bureau's and they will update the information.

I heard the pay for delete works in the United States. If you’re going to ask for it and they accept, they will want the full amount. Good Luck.

I would hold out. I am sending a pay for delete letter for a debt I have. If they say no the only thing lost is time, which is good us.

So does anyone have any opinions on whether I should settle with the CA or wait until they agree to remove it from my CR

Yes they can remove what they list on the collection items line not the creditors trade line. Only if there is an error could that be removed.

The collection agency has the power to remove their on item from your file but do not have the power to remove the creditor’s item.

If they have the power to report it to the credit bureau, why do they not have the power to remove it from your credit file? I’ve seen posts say they can and posts that say they can’t on this site. Any evidence as to if you can or can’t anyone?

Thats a lie, the bill collector doesnt have that power. Its just a tactic to get you to pay more. Remember collectors make commission for what they collect.

Actually the DCA person said she could have it removed if I paid off the entire balance. but because I settled she wouldn't do it.

The reason they declined to delete the trade is that they cant. It's your history of credit, they can't just go make it look however they want to. It has nothing to do with "if you pay then we'll delete the item" - its a written off debt. You can pay, settle or dispute it but there's no reason it should be deleted.
