slight addition to the below, If they confirm the identity of the people they are trying to call, they have to provide the below information. If they have not confirmed the persons identity then the can't give details, however, if the person on the other end of the phone asked what company the collector was calling from, by collection law, a proper response has to be given without discussing account.. as for the name, one would figure it is only common sense to give your name, unless of course you were worried about getting a complaint against you.

under collection law, the collector is to identify himself, then name of the company he is working for and the company he is collecting for. If that information is refused, then as stated it is in fact an illegal call. All calls at Iqor are in fact taped. But that really means nothing at this point because the company has no interests in protecting anybody's rights. Management has told collectors to do things that were blatantly against the law in order to keep clients like Rogers etc... and the sadest thing is now the company is hiring part time staff who barely have a grasp of the english language in an effort to change over to a call center enviorment. People have refered to Vikas and wondered if he knew his people were running the company this way, who do you think gives the orders at the end of the day. Let me help you, sounds a bit like dumbass..

Technically the agency doesn't have to say anything to you since you aren't the one they were looking for. And agencies like the technicalities that they can use to abuse as many people as possible :)

You won't get anywhere fast if you lower yourself to their level and talk "at them".

Iqor has an ombudsman listed on their website, try them for help:

For Consumer relations assistance, please contact iQor's Consumer Advocacy Group at 1-800-811-4214 or Advocacy.Group@iQor.com. For Consumer relations assistance in Canada, please contact 1-888-804-8198 or omb@iqor.com

You talk at them, not to them.

Lack of Professional Conduct!

Postby Sadiqjoon » Fri Aug 14, 2009 07:45:51 AM

I have actually skipped breakfast because of a rude Associate from Iqor who called around 7:30 am this morning trying to speak to my son. I told him I was the father and that my son was sleeping (Friday being his off day from work). I instinctively knew where he was calling from but owished to bring him down to an acceptable level of communication insisting the caller identify himself. He refused to ID himself and continued to override my voice with a defined tone of rudeness, cockiness and arrogance that was so very unnecessary..... and definitely uncalled for. Right through the call this associate gave me the impression I did not deserve fair professional conduct on the telephone just because ......?

I called Iqor and I suspect it was the same gentleman who took the call.
I made it clear I was willing to play ball provided he conducted the call in a define and professional manner.

Would you believe - that inspite of my calling back and telling him off on his style of delivery (and I hope that conversation was recorded) he never apologized for his behaviour.

And besides as wj feder's thread states:
"When the man asked the collection agent for the name of the collection agencies company, the collection agent refused to answer that. That makes it an illegal phone call. If somebody doesn't identify them self they could be calling from an illegal telemarketing company!! "

I had to register for this thread to make my case heard! How ridiculous is that! I hope your CEO - Mr Kapoor get to hear about this episode and how certain employees in his organization are discrediting Iqor's image that he has so painstakingly developed over the last few years.

"You’ll never have a product or price advantage again.
They can be easily duplicated, but a strong customer service culture can’t be copied." ~JERRY FRITZ

Thanks
