technically,

The creditor can get a judgement against you in the Province that the contract is administered under.

Whether is it profitable for them to do so is another case.

I'm not exactly sure about how they would go about moving the judgement to the states... I'm sure that it can be done as people are constantly moving.

I would not make the minimal payment and let the debt go over the two years old mark so they won't be able to sue you. If you make the minimal payment they will have two years from the last time you made a payment to sue you again.

They are aware I moved here, and they have my new address. Should I make minimal payments to get me through 2 yrs?

If they are not aware you moved to the United States, I believe you will be fine. If your in Ontario and its been two years since your last payment, they will not be able to sue you after two years. The statute of limitation in Ontario to sue someone is two years.

I moved to the states 2 yrs ago, and now I am still not working, unable to pay my Canadian Tire credit card. Can the collection agency find out my personal information down here? If I start working, will they find out and be able to garnish my wages?
