Fiona sometimes you can find out your credit score by just going to apply for a loan on a vechile. Don't do it if you do not have to only do it if you really need the car. We know our credit score most of the times when we go for a loan the lender will show you what is recent on your credit history and right at the top is the score. There are other things that a lender sees and that the consumer does not see even on their own credit report. Go get your free credit reports you are allowed one every year. I am kinda glad we go once in awhile to try and get a loan for a car because every time we have we have found out errors the credit bureau made after the fact of sending us our credit reports that didn't show up before until going in for a loan.

Hey Fiona26,
You can only get your credit score with PAID credit reports.

You can get free reports from Equifax and TransUnion, however they don't give the credit score. The reason is, credit bureaus are legislated to give you a free credit report. They're not legislated to give you a credit score.

That's just the credit bureau's way of making you pay.

TransUnion Canada REPORT CENTER

ORDER YOUR TRANSUNION CREDIT REPORT TODAY!
Along with offering our life insurance information, we thought that our visitors would appreciate more information on how to order Credit Reports in Canada. We are now offering TransUnion Credit reports, TransUnion Credit Monitoring and TransUnion Credit Score monitoring to all Canadians in all Canadian provinces and Territories as follows:

WHO IS TRANSUNION CANADA?

TransUnion is one of the two major credit bureaus in Canada. TransUnion provide credit reporting to such companies as Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), American Express (Amex) of Canada, temporary employment agencies, car rental businesses, life insurance companies, property rental companies and more. Even if you aren't applying for credit, your TransUnion credit report could still affect your employment, renting a property, getting life insurance, and of course getting credit.

TRANSUNION COLLECTS INFORMATION FROM ALL MAJOR CREDITORS ETC
Just as Equifax Canada does, TransUnion Canada collects your credit information from major Canadian creditors, collection agencies, government agencies such as Small Claims Court, Court of Queens Bench, and the Federal Superintendent of Bankruptcy. TransUnion collects information from any company or government organization that is a member of their service and who fits their strict reporting standards.

CANADIAN CREDIT REPORTS
As a part of good financial management, Canadians need good sources to learn about their credit reports, with TransUnion Canada Equifax Canada. It's important that you know exactly what is being reported about you. Many times I've talked to people who have just applied for a mortgage, credit card or line of credit and have been refused credit because of bad credit or inaccuracies on their credit reports.

It's stressful when you're trying to get accepted for a mortgage and you do not know what the problem is with your credit report or credit score. In the past Canadians were under the impression that they could never see their credit reports. We are pleased to say that you can see your TransUnion credit report and credit reports instantly when you use our online service.

Credit reports from TransUnion Canada and Equifax Canada are important as they describe your credit activity and history with all of the creditors that report to the credit bureaus. These creditors include some mortgages, car loans, lines of credit and credit cards.

REPORTING POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ITEMS
Along with reporting on time payments your credit reports will also mention if there have been any late payments, collections, bad debts, repossessions, judgments, bankruptcies, orderly payment of debts, consumer proposals or any other negative credit items. Along with these credit activity reporting there are also things to watch for on your credit reports such as name misspellings, reporting errors and discrepancies, and duplicate records.

ORDER YOUR CREDIT SCORE
Your credit score is the benchmark of your credit reporting. Your credit score is widely used by creditors to get a 'quick understanding' of your credit situation so as to evaluate your credit risk. The better your credit score, the better of a risk you are deemed to be to current and future creditors.

You need to know what your TransUnion (Transrisk)credit score is. This score is completely different than your FICO or BEACON scores. The TransRisk score is a proprietary scoring system based solely on the credit information that TransUnion has collected about you. I have talked to people who's Equifax FICO score is 100+ points above or below their TransUnion credit score. They are completely different scores from different credit reporting companies.

A GOOD TRANSUNION CREDIT SCORE MEANS YOU PAY LOWER INTEREST RATES AND SERVICE CHARGES
TransUnion credit scores range between 300 and 900, 900 being the best credit score possible. The higher your credit score, the lower a credit risk you're deemed to be. Creditors will reward your higher credit score and prudent use of credit by offering you much lower interest rates than a person who has bad credit. For example, Car loan interest rates range between 0% and 29.99%. If you have a high credit score, you'll be offered the lowest interest rates.

Are you curious to know what your TransUnion Canada credit score is and what your TransUnion Canada credit report looks like?

We are pleased to welcome visitors from all provinces in Canada. If you're from one of the following provinces or Territories, please take a moment to order your TransUnion credit reports. You'll be glad you did.

Canada Canadians Canadienne Alberta (Alta) British Columbia (B.C.) Manitoba (Man.) New Brunswick (N.B.) Newfoundland (Nfld) Northwest Territories (N.W.T.) Nova Scotia (N.S.) Ontario (Ont) Prince Edward Island (P.E.I.) Province de Quebec (Que) Saskatchewan (Sask) Yukon
