ok..
i'll assume that you want to pay your presidents choice credit card from another bank... that's easy to do..

i have several different credit cards, and pay them all through my one bank account. you just have to set up the payee

Hahah,

Perhaps I should clarify... excuse me for I am no banker

I have a Presidents Choice Financial Bank.

They offer stupidly great benefits that I dont want to give up.

But I want a credit card with another bank. I cannot get one with PC. I want to get one with CIBC. If I have bill payments to pay at the end of the month. How can I pay this if I do not have a CIBC chequeing account but a PC checking account.

Thanks,

I realize that getting a student card is risky. But I am a wise spender and today you almost need a credit card for tuition, flights, and online stuff.

So just to ask again, I can pay bills online easily even across platfroms?

agreed... you can pay your bills online, through the mail, or at a branch..
i usually pay my credit cards online, as soon as I get the bills. It's pretty fast and convenient to pay online.

Student credit cards are the first step to disaster. I believe the world be better off without credit cards and just pay cash. I lived without credit cards for over three years and I don’t miss them. I also believe if someone wants to buy a home these days, the min. downpayment should be between 10 and 20%.

student credit cards are the first step towards establishing a credit history, which will be valuable for the rest of their lives. For others, it is the beginning of a cycle of debt. The difference is discipline and knowledge.

You would just pay your CIBC visa as a bill payment with online banking or mail a cheque from your chequing account to CIBC visa.

Student New to Credit Cards -- Need Help

Postby geoffbrouwer » Thu May 21, 2009 11:05:25 AM

I am looking into getting my first credit card but am unsure on how it works.

I am a responsible spender and would never go above my limit or fail to pay bills, but I am not sure how bill payments work. Can you pay bills across bank platforms? For example I have a Presidents Choice Chequeing/Saving account and am looking into getting a credit card with CIBC, how to I pay bills?

Thanks for any help.
