Thanx for the reply Joe

I have never made a payment to CBV, as far as Telus it was in 2005, Please dont get me wrong, I am not saying that I dont owe money to telus. However I question the amount that CBV states, and all I have asked for is some paperwork. Now, the interest they are charging is criminal, and I refuse to pay that amount. I am beginning to think it thier strategy of not substantiating the claim to be able to fluff up the amount that they are owed.

Any advice about how to deal with this

Postby pibit1130 » Wed May 20, 2009 05:26:54 PM

Hey Folks

I have been reading the posts in the CBV forum here and am actually pretty discouraged with what I should do.
I started recieving calls from CBV in May 1998 claiming I owed $1800 on a telus number that was actually my smart ring/fax number (added feature@$5.00/mo) since 2005. The 1000 and one calls I recieved were ignorant, insulting and rude. Every time I talked with these people all I asked for was some details and paperwork to substantiate this claim and every time I was told that as a debtor I dont deserve it, to which I would reply that I would not arbitrarily just mail off $1800 with out paperwork. I sent them a registered letter asking for details and recieved nothing 8 months later.
Well, I just went to renew my mortgage and there it was on my credit report, CBV collections for $3400. I dont know where they get thier interest rate from, can they charge interest?
I have called telus and they say they dont have any records to provide me as it is 4 yrs later.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, and Thank you in advance.
