When was the last time you made a payment on these accounts? If your planning to move outside Canada, how long? I should be able to give you some advice once you answer these questions.

weird call?

Postby screwedCanuck » Tue May 12, 2009 03:04:49 PM

hi there
i just got my first call from metropolitan credit adjustors. here is my situation:
1. yes i owe 3 different banks coin totaling around $30K due to bad business debt

2. this agency called but would not reveal who i owe money to or the amount. they needed to verify my address but i refused to reveal this personal info unless they provided me who the creditor was and the amount. i have not seen a notice since my address did change.

3. even though i owe $, what are my options:
a. do i file personal/corp bankruptcy since i have no income whatsoever?
b. will these types of bad strikes stay on my credit profile as long as 6 years even if i was to settle somehow? i.e. they attempted to call when i did owe money.

c. does filing for personal bankruptcy affect my job search or even potentially getting a job? if so, how can i be affected and at what capacity? what about finding about apartments for rent in the future?
d. if i file for personal bankruptcy and move to the USA or England, will this bankruptcy follow be on my record if i decide to reside in these other countries?

any other advise would be helpful.

thanks
