Why not ask Revenue Canada to be considered for a fairness package. The fairness package is for people that can not pay all the interest or money back. I have a friend that went through it and they dropped most or all of the interest. They will want you to write up a letter or fill out some forms why you can not pay all this money back. If you state in the letter that if most or all of the interest can not be forgiven, you will have no choice but to file for bankruptcy. The fairness package can only be done once in your life.

With only $2k a month income and half of that going to rent, then bankruptcy seems like the best move if your tax debt is to be included in the filing.

Dont worry about the bill collector, anyone can be a telephone tough guy.

That behaviour is illegal by the way and you can complain to the Ontario Ministy if you like, but in the meantime I would get your paperwork sorted out and see your Trustee.

I owe just over $1000 to two seperate phone companies and at least $60,000 to the government...again, most of that being interest.

Taxes

Postby batman99 » Thu Apr 23, 2009 01:19:23 PM

I owe the government a lot ... mostly because i didn't file for many years and they filed on my behalf which made the debt much much larger than it has to be.
I finally filed, but now I can't afford to pay h&r block to get my taxes back to show the government so i can then claim bankrupcy or make an arrangement.
I want to move forward but I'm not able to shake the pass and I simply can't afford to pay this tax debt (of which at least half is interest).

I just want to start over. CBV agent calls and calls me a loser and brags on how much money he makes, I ask for proof he's allowed to act on behalf of Solo mobile and he says he doesn't have to show me anything.
I say I'll give $10 a month but that's unacceptablele to him and he called me a degenerate so i hung up.

any advice on how to move forward with a 2k a month income when rent takes half of that.
