and now I am fighting with Equifax and Trans Union cause I want that off my credit report and all I am told to do is fill in forms as this debt is listed as being a R9

I agree with you on that Richard, the debtor has more control then they think. If Canadians would realize that, bill collectors would be more polite.

Sounds like interest... If they can't provide the statements it's either because they dont have them or they can't be bothered to get them from the original creditor.

Either way - they are in a bad position to push you to pay or even bargin with you if they don't respond to your request.

Debt settlement tip # 174 - You are the debtor - they are the creditor... you have the money to pay; or not, you have more control to negotiate a better deal then you think.

because they claim that I owe the bigger amount they wont supply me with a accounting statement that shows all my payments up to 2004 All I got from them was numbers on a paper that were penciled in that dont add up. And I dont have all my records I have the contract agreement I signed back in 2001. The agreement was $33 a month for 48 month.. The $33 included the cost of the instrument So I have no idea where they come up with the $2200 as there were payments made in 2001 220 2003 and so on

If you agree to the lesser amount then why not offer to settle for the $400?

I have a debt that wont go away I am disputing the amount I filled in forms with Equifax and TransUnion today I got forms back that the debt is not in dispute and I have to fill in more details on the debt the amount I owe is way outta line The debt was in 2001 and in 2004 it was listed as having a balance due but no where near the $2200 they want me to pay St John Music sent the it t to collection who keeps telling me they will be garishing me The amount I owe going over paper work is closer to $400 So no idea where they get this $2200 so now what can I do St Johns said it with collection and not there trouble and collection agency wants the full money.
