the sad part is the stupid executives that made the decision(s) to only hire CSRs who will work for a low price *cough India cough * keep getting bonuses, when they instead should be fired for making such horrible decision(s)

for some reason corporate jets are necessary, but hiring good people is not

let 'em all slide into recession hell

The smaller the company, the better the service is. The corporations these days are worried about the bottom number and not about customer service. These rude customer reps; can have fun flipping burgers when they find out their company is going out of business.

the only time customer service is sometimes good, is when they are trying to sell you something

after they have your money, they don't care

this goes for cars, computers, realtors, etc.

I don't recall customer service in Canada was ever "uphill"?

The court threat won't scare them; it will make the matter worse. The problem isn’t capital one, it’s the banking system and the process it has to go through. If you can get your money within 14 days consider yourself lucky. It’s like putting a stop payment on a cheque; it takes two weeks to get reimbursed your money if someone stole your cheque.If this was the gov’t you would be waiting 30 days or more.

they told me that 20 days is their "policy"

I spoke with CSR, supervisor and a manager

seems they are all of one mind; "we'll be nice when hell freezes over!"

my bank is on it and now I have to wait 14 days

lesson learned
mea culpa

Tell them if they don't give the money back to you in 3 business days, you're going to escalate the matter to court. It'll scare the hell out of them.

tagakawit;

from my original post;

"My little silly bank which is still in the 20th century said they can get my money back in about 14 days."

my bank suggested I call cap1 as the are able to reverse much more quickly if they feel like it

so I went with my bank which was far more helpful than cap1

I called the credit card company for whom the payment was meant to be applied and they said if such an error occurred they could have it fixed for me in one day

'nuff said about capital one

to borrow from their ad; "when hell freezes over" seems to be their motto when trying to help customers

one more question, how bad would it be for me to cancel the card after this mess is cleared up?
