Not all cities have equifax offices.. in Saskatchewan we have to go through Equifax's Montreal's office.

We don't have the luxury of an equifax office. I'm sure that's the same in other small Canadian's cities.

If you have the proof and go into their office; I bet your issue will be resolved within 30 days.

credit bureaus are regulated by the provincial government.
If they're not complying then you complain to the provincial consumer protection.. they have to listen and act at that point.

I didn't think about escalating my issues with Equifax. I call once a week to try and discuss my credit report issues, but always seem to get the same girl (or else they all sound the same) who tells me the same standard answers ("it will take 30 to 90 days to resolve your issues")

Got a credit report from equifax last week, some r-9 ,r-7 and lots of r-1s .Was enrolled in orderly payment of debt and paid all out on time so the r-7 and r-9 are usual but when I applied for credit today active bankruptcy showed up.Never declared bankruptcy decided to take ownership of my dept and pay them off hence the OPD. Called equifax and had to escalate to a manager who started an investigation after a lengthly and heated dicussion. Why can't people just do there jobs. They go home at the end of the day free and clear and I'm stuck with the bad rap.Keep you posted, maybe it will help you.

I always keep the settlement letters for years just in case I need to go into Equifax or Trans Union to have an item corrected or removed. I found the time frame when I have the letter is about two weeks and I always get them to send me a copy of my credit report once the update were made.

Just to add to the frustration...Transunion says that it can take up to 60 days for the item to be removed from the report. Seems incredibly unfair since it shouldn't have been on there in the first place...I guess with the letter in hand our lender might be okay...but would much rather have them pull a clean bureau...

First, Equifax does not verify all information before they put it on your credit file. In fact, they verify none of it. And considering the amount of information they receive, that's not surprising.

Second, when they do "verify" something, all they feel they are required to do, as told to me by one of their employees, is call the creditor/collection agency and ask if the information is correct. The credit/collection agency simply has to say "yes it is" and equifax considers that verified.
