You did work for them didn't you? I can tell. They don't listen to me very well either. Please read my entry more carefully. I called to tell them that I was going to approach a lending institution for a consolidation loan. They knew that my ability to settle with them hinged on my approval of the loan. I was declined. It should have come as no surprise to them. It sure didn't me. I don't want to be in debt. I am clawing my way out of it with every effort I can muster. I'm doing what I can. Their tactics are futile. I'm not paying them because they're hounding me. I'm paying them because I want to get out of debt.

Dear Tom:

I understand your point of view and I don't fully agree with it, but I respect your opinion.
First and foremost, I totally (or on purpose, actually don't remember) forgot to mention that I have worked previously at iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency . I do not fully agree with some of the tactics that they use to get money from debters, but I do know that it is all done legally.

The only thing I can see from reading your post, is that you told the collection agent that you would pay "out" the amount owed, you do realize they write that down on your file and will keep you to it? What did you expect them to do, you called them and told them you would pay, but yet you didnt.
I understand that you are still making your monthly payments, but calling them and telling that you can pay the full amount and didnt, was not a good idea.
ps: good luck with the rest of your payments, I know how hard it is to get out of debt.... wishing you nothing but the best.

Dear Monty:

"Mr Stop the Whining:
? Do you know the laws that collection agencies must follow?
? Do you know that unless you agreed with the original creditor for them to use a collection agency, you don't have to?!!"

- I know the laws the collection agencies must follow....
- Did you know that they sell your account to iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency and they have full rights to get the money from you?

How can you say that my opinion, even if negative, is not helping people out? Instead or hearing about, how you can get around this, maybe try and help them realize how they got in this position and how not to get back in it.

Level the playing field??? Are you kidding me? It's not a game, and it's not something you can make a deal and try to bargain for it.
You owe money, then pay your debts.
Straight forward and to the point. Enough of people trying to get the easy road out... Take responsibilities.

Dear "Stop Whining",
That was my entire point. I had determined an appropriate amount with this agency to pay back monthly. I made my monthly payments and still am. I haven't missed one yet. I then contacted them a few months ago to tell them that I might be in a possible payout position. Well, the deal didn't go through and I couldn't pay out. So, I continued on with my regular payment schedule. The difference was that they began hounding me for payment in full. I AM paying my debts and still this particular company is harrassing me.You are absolutely right, people should pay their debts. So why don't they focus on the people who aren't paying and leave those of us who are alone?

Oh yes.. the stop whining post.

Well.. I agree whole heartedly that people should pay their bills.

I don't agree that people should pay money to a collection agency who is working illegally or when there is no agreed contract in place for them. This happens all the time.

Mr Stop the Whining:
? Do you know the laws that collection agencies must follow?
? Do you know that unless you agreed with the original creditor for them to use a collection agency, you don't have to?!!

People would never sign a contract with a collection agency. Thus people don't owe a collection agency money unless they agreed upon it in contract form.

So... get your facts straight and stop complaining! This discussion area is to help people get more educated on how to properly deal with collection agencies.

Keep in mind that collection agencies and creditors usually have much deeper legal pockets than the readers of this discussion. We're just trying to level the playing field.

I hate to be the devil's advocate, but this needs to be said. Debts? I am also in debt, deep in debt but I do no go online and complaint about it.
First of all if you are getting calls because you do not owe money, well you do have a point in complaining about the annoying phone calls, but if you do owe money, I hate to say it, pay your debts and no one will bother you.
What if you are in finacial trouble and cant pay at all?
Then you shouldnt feel bad about these people trying to make a living and calling you, it's their job.
Everyone is talking about laws and everything like that... what about you not paying your bills... now thats also against the law?
Stop whining...

iQor Collection agency - CBCL

Trying to contact this agency is difficult. It seems no one wants to speak with you. You ask them for help and they keep dumping you back into their automated system.
I have been trying to contact them for 2 days now.

I actually got through by asking for a manager. Not that it was much help, he was very rude and arrogant. It seems that any conversations that I may have had with the representative a few years back were not recorded on my file. There is no record that there was a settlement even spoken of. Come to find out as well that there are many payments that I had made by money order that were 'never received' because I was told that I didn't send it to the proper address. He stated that the last payment received was in January 2002. I tried to explain to him that I made more payments after that date but he insists that I didn't because they are not posted to the account. Go figure. So where is all that money I sent? He suggested that I go back to the institutions where I had purchased my money orders and have them traced.
How am I supposed to prove that I actually made the payments? Are money orders traceable? Why do I feel like I'm getting shafted? It's my credit rating and it seems nobody wants to help me reach an agreement.
