Hi gns , Whom do you owe the money to? I'll recommend bypassing these morons and dealing with them directly unless they happen to be MBNA Credit Card Directory.

In my experience this one is the worst of the lot. I've had dealings with ARC , Collectcorp , iQor, Inc formerly CBCL - Canadian Bonded Credit Limited - Now Iqor Collection Agency and these goons and the first three come out smelling like roses compared to this piece of crud! And I owed them much more!

Not to say that the first three didn't give me problems , they did. They have hung up on me , called my employer more than once , contacted people with my same last name (only 3 in the GTA , must have thought we were brothers..) , etc.

But what they did NOT do was CRIMINAL HARASSMENT , FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION and PETTY THEFT.

Hey Stacy-Lee , Don't spread misinformation. These guys (Pomer & Boccia) are hardly professional.

They assume that all debtors are stupid and ignorant of the law.

They just play the numbers. They feed you stupid lies , threaten you with non-existent court action and hope to snare those stupid enough to believe them.

They are NOT lawyers though they claim to be , they do not show any knowledge of the law or court procedures.

In short , DO NOT DEAL DIRECTLY WITH THESE SCUMBAGS.

If you want to settle your debt , deal directly with the original creditor or go through a trustee if you want to file a proposal. I repeat , DO NOT DEAL DIRECTLY WITH THESE SCUMBAGS.

hey gns1972,

If you're not certain who the collection agency is, ask them for proof (the contract) of the original debt. Ask them for proof of who they are, and by what authority they're collecting you.

They claim to be calling from a law firm and want payment for a past due account of $1500. Any suggestions on how to deal with them? I can pay the funds, just need to set up some monthly payments. What do you suggest?
