I guess it really comes down to apples and oranges. Depending on the use of the web browsers themself.

If your using a far bigger network, then Just one computer. Say if you are working in a Corporate building with X amount of computer's IE all around is going to be better for your administrator vs Firefox which is your best intrest for a single users. But to upgrade every computer in the business with firefox on every computer with a programer at X amount of hours is it really worth it? I.E on a computer is and has far more options then Firefoxs. Firewall wise and protection.... I'd hope you have a big ass firewall and hardware routers ussally around 6 for starts and thats just how banks roll. It's best to keep security and network in 2 different catagorys. Some companys may go to the exstent of even having someone to try to hack there computers to see if there safe. It never hurts to test your net work everynow an then :)

Agreed..
The point is to make sure that people who use Firefox, IE, and google chrome can see the site.

I think it is more of a problem that IE is outdated and buggy . But since stil majority of users still use IE guess there is no choice except to do it in IE ..

AHHHH!! FireFox vs Internet Explorer

Postby montyloree » Tue Mar 04, 2008 06:09:35 AM

Sometimes I get kind of frustrated..
I built this site using the FireFox browser on the recommendation of my web development/seo friends. FireFox is a good website development software and for the most part done a good job.

What I didn't realize is that there a small differences between firefox and Internet Explorer as far as what the programming does. While building my site, I would obviously test everything to make sure that it functioned properly. I've tested and retested things to make sure they're solid.

In the last few weeks, I've switched over to Internet Explorer "as a user", and have found that some small programming things, that worked in firefox, weren't working in Internet Explorer and were hurting this site in a big way...

That's frustrating to say the least.

Here's the other thing that I should have known. Most of our visitors use Internet Explorer as a browser. Only 10% or so use FireFox as a browser.

Reluctantly, I am committing to using Internet Explorer from now on as a development tool as I can't afford to have these "small" problems any longer. FireFox is a great development tool. It's one main weakness are these little unseen bugs that Internet Explorer doesn't like.
