I hear where you are going with the suggestion of giving MBNA a ring to see if I'm still on their file. Pretty certain that's I had done that a couple months back, but just can't recall what their answer was right now?. . . .

Set off involves removing money from one asset account to cover a delinquent debt in another account. It's not the transfer or piggy backing of a stats barred debt onto a current debt.
It would defeat the purpose. . . .

T.J., that was the example I was aiming to make. ... This 'pre-approved' app is avail til May 15th, but I'm not sending anything in as they rejected me on an app 2 or 3 mos back. Besides, this card has some pretty HE. . . .

Not that I believe this is what they are doing, however they could issue a card exercise their right of off set on some old stat barred debt and replace it with the new debt which they could then sue on.

Right of offset? I don't think so. How can you offset one debit balance with another one? Apply; you have nothing to lose. They will weed out the bad apples.
